What Dr. PPAP checks — and what it doesn't.
Dr. PPAP is a documentary review: the first pass an SQE makes for presence, formal completeness and cross-document consistency. It is designed so you spend your time on the technical judgment only an SQE can make.
What the review does
- Verifies that every PPAP element required for the submission level — and, on Level 4, the documents your customer requested — is present and identifiable.
- Reviews each document for formal completeness against AIAG 4th Edition and the loaded OEM customer-specific patterns: signatures, revisions, dates, required fields, declared special characteristics.
- Cross-checks consistency between documents: part numbers, drawing revisions, characteristics in the control plan that are missing from the PFMEA, capability studies that do not match the special characteristics list.
- Reads and flags the values the documents state — Cpk, sample sizes, gage R&R percentages, material certifications — against the thresholds the standard or the OEM defines.
What the review does not do
- It does not verify dimensional results measurement by measurement against the drawing, nor recalculate statistics from raw data.
- It does not judge the engineering adequacy of an FMEA, a control plan or a process flow — only their formal completeness and internal consistency.
- It does not confirm laboratory accreditation, supplier certifications or IMDS status against external databases.
- It does not apply customer-specific requirements for OEMs we have not loaded yet, and it cannot reliably read handwritten notes or poor-quality scans — unreadable content is reported as such, never assumed.
- It does not approve or reject a PPAP. Every report is a first-pass documentary review for a qualified SQE to act on.
Each Excel report includes a Coverage sheet stating, element by element, what was reviewed and what was not — so you always know exactly what is left for you to verify.
Your PPAP data does not train AI models. Period.
Confidentiality is non-negotiable for automotive supplier work. We built Dr. PPAP with explicit retention windows and a Zero Data Retention contract with our AI provider.

Your uploaded PPAP files are permanently deleted from our systems within 60 seconds of analysis completion.
Report retention

Dr. PPAP output is AI-generated decision support, not a substitute for SQE professional judgment. Every analysis must be reviewed by a qualified human before any submission, supplier qualification, or contractual decision.
